Solastalgia

"Solastalgia is a term coined by philosopher Glenn Albrecht to describe a form of existential distress caused by environmental change, specifically the loss of a sense of place and belonging due to the impact of human-made environmental destruction. In the context of Solastalgia 2048, my exhibition, it refers to the emotional and psychological impact of the Great Flood of 2048 on individuals and communities, and how this experience has led to a search for regenerative solutions for a more sustainable future. It's a reminder that we are deeply interconnected with the natural world and the consequences of our actions affect not only ourselves, but also the planet as a whole.
